Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

re “Fire Him Today”
I don't believe I have ever seen the hiring of a White House chief of staff strike a nerve like this. Why the histrionics and over reaction by the dems? feeblemind: Why the histrionics and over reaction by the dems?
Miller has promoted white supremacist literature, advocated virtually unlimited executive power, and was the architect of the administration's much-reviled immigration policies. Becerra conduct on the southern border enabled hispanic racism and endangered children. It enabled unlimited illegal immigration contrary to federal law and even subsidized illegals. Miller did none of the things you mentioned.
QUOTE: There Is No Such Thing As a Moderate Democrat... Several years ago, a reporter asked Pelosi, What is the difference between a Democrat and a socialist? Pelosi was stumped. She couldn’t think of a thing. We wrote about it at the time. Probably never happened. What Pelosi actually said was this: "I do reject socialism as an economic system. If people have that view, that's their view. That is not the view of the Democratic Party." Pelosi is a Woodrow Wilson/FDR/LBJ worshiper. The only decision is whether she is a fascist socialist or communist socialist.
"So Americans Hate Data Centers"
The data centers advocates made America hate them. They bribed local officials to approve data centers that the locals didn't want. They moved quickly to get the data centers built before anyone knew what was happening. They intentionally picked sites with low electric and water rates and then over taxed the utilities so badly that the rates went up and property taxes had to be raised to rebuild the electric and water systems. They promise jobs but 100% of the workers are from out of town and 90% of them are from India. The data centers are noisy and so unattractive that they drive down property values. I live in the Southwest. A billion square miles of nothing. Why not build the data centers out in the middle of nowhere??? Why put them right next to people's homes or destroy farmland to build them??? QUOTE: Elon Musk's Brilliant Reply to Dems Who Want to Cut Off His Companies' Government Contracts Not so much brilliant as petulant. There are substantial predicates for an investigation of Musk and Doge:
This also shows the problem with too much power concentrated in wealth. His reaction to oversight is to threaten to cut off NASA's primary source of rocket launchers. BD: Like Soros - + almost all of Silicon Valley $ ?
Too much concentrated power related to wealth can lead to abuse and corruption, the problem of the Gilded Age. In Musk's case though, he acted as essentially an arm of the executive branch, cutting funding to the very agencies that regulated his businesses. A related problem is that the executive cut funding to agencies funded by Congress, a further weakening of the balance of power in the US constitutional system. Musk cut NO funding to any government agency. He only pointed out where government COULD cut funding. The Peace Institute and USAID were two excellent choices, except to Democrats. And, Starshield is a service sold to the US government and controlled by the US government. Transporting US government satellites into orbit is also another service Musk provides. Do you wish to end those contracts? Many Democrats do want to end them. Musk has stated that about 5% of his income is from government services. Most politicians derive far more than 5% of their income from government.
His reaction to oversight is to threaten to cut off NASA's primary source of rocket launchers.
Oh yeah? Democrats Demand Government Cut off All Contracts With Elon Musk https://thelibertydaily.com/democrats-demand-government-cut-all-contracts-elon-musk/ It looks like the adversarial relation ship between Musk and the dems will only intensify. feeblemind: Democrats Demand Government Cut off All Contracts With Elon Musk
Which Democrats have demanded the "government cut off all contracts with Elon Musk"? Most Democrats just want investigations and oversight. Furthermore, contracts are awarded by a legal process through the executive branch. Do you think it appropriate that someone working in the executive branch should have the power over the regulatory agencies charged with oversight of his businesses? The Democrats, especially Obama and staff, were spying on Trump and Republicans before Trump was even elected the first time. And the evidence is quite clear they continued doing so right up to today. It is why Democrats have continued to attack him relentlessly for the last 10 years in order to delay being exposed.
Name an executive that hasn't cut funding or rerouted funding. Who promoted debanking and funding of businesses out of favor with Democrats such as the oil business or debanking Republicans or using the IRS to kill off nontaxable conservative organizations. Lois Lerner anyone? Who had oversight and funding of immigration NGO's? The Collapse of the Republican Party
QUOTE: “What kind of leader starts a war in an election year, months before the midterms, when anyone could see what it would do to gas prices? Everything costs more when fuel costs more: groceries, shipping, getting to work. Families felt it every time they filled the tank, and Trump himself admitted prices wouldn’t come down until after the election. Of course, people voted the way they did. That wasn’t the Democrats’ doing. That was a choice made in the White House.” https://www.trevorloudon.com/2026/11/the-collapse-of-the-republican-party/ Israel was under very serious threat from Iran. Israel is so tine that two nukes on two of their major population centers would kill more than 50% of their population. Israel correctly assessed the situation and concluded that their only chance of survival was to destroy Iran's nuclear program and destroy as many of their rockets and drones as possible. BUT, Israel did not have a conventional military sufficient for the job so the only way they could save themselves was to nuke Iran. Trump, of course, did not want to see nukes used because once the genie is out of the bottle there is no stopping it. So he decapitated Iran's political and nuclear capability with conventional forces to prevent a nuclear war.
The Democrats at some level know this truth. It was kept secret from the world but the highest level leaders know this. BUT, the Democrats don't really care if there is a nuclear war in the Middle East and instead of supporting Trump on this they used the fact that he cannot say this truth and waged a propaganda war against Trump and his Middle East strategy. The Democrats choose to b traitors to their country in the hopes of spinning it all into a win. Now what? They will shut down the war in a way most likely to allow Iran to rebuild their nuclear weapons program. At some point when Iraan is close to having nukes Isreal will be forced to strike first. And we will have released the nuclear genie. Do you think that Muslim countries will not respond in kind? And there it is. Thank you for that summation of our Iran policy. The gist of your cogent analysis is that US foreign policy is indeed captive to our bestest friend in the Middles East i.e. we are Iraell's bitch and the zionist tail wags the goyem dog. If what you claim is indeed true, then are the traitors not those who put the interests of another country over the interest of their native land? You write that if..."at some point Iraan is close to having nukes Israel will be forced to strike first." According to the Israeli PM Iran has been close to having nukes for the past 20 some years. And there it is.
The mid-term election turnout was an anomaly. The number of Republicans voting was almost identical to the number of Republicans that voted in the hotly contested 2022 mid-terms. The number of "Democrats" who voted in 2026 mid-terms was about 20 million more than the number of Democrats that voted in the hotly contested 2022 mid-terms. Where did those 20 million additional voters come from? The Democrats and the MSM want you to believe that many Republicans voted blue. But if that were true than the Republican turnout would be lower to account for that and it isn't. Democrats would also want you to believe that these Far left socialist/communist candidates rallied the Democrat voters to come out and vote. But in the hotly contested 2022 election the Democrats were rallied and came out and voted. Where did the extra 20 million Democrat voters come from???
The Obamacare act was designed to put off costs into future administrations. It is UNAFFORDABLE and will continue to be unaffordable unless the Democrats add more and more taxes, permits, licenses and fees to subsidize it and they will also insist that illegals be covered. Maybe even Haitians and Cubans.
If people hate data centers, what are the odds that they will be open to any serious industrial facility?..a steel mill, for instance, will involve traffic, noise, probably a rail spur, and, if it's an electric arc mill, a whole lot of electricity.
If I were the mayor, I might prefer the steel mill, for reasons of employment...but considering the two as a potential neighbor, I'd pick the data center every time. Imagine your city council is bribed and approves a data center without a public hearing. And then they build it with a construction company from out of town, no local employment. When it is complete they staff it foreigners, again no local employment. Then your electric utility has to build a larger infrastructure but "democratically" the costs are shared by everyone and your electric bill doubles. Ditto for your water. some of the increased costs are funded by higher utility bills but some of it is funded by higher property taxes. The 1,000,000 sq/ft structure looms over your little town like a 12th century castle. The noise and vibration from the monolith is tiresome so you decide to move. But the value of your house has decreased significantly and yet no one wants to buy it and live next to a data center. So tell me again why you would choose a data center!
