Coming from a family of alcoholics I have witnessed first hand the destructive nature of alcohol. Not one of the very close family members ever intended to become alcoholics but the three closest have ruined their lives and the lives of those around them. All have done very stupid things when drunk but I would not call it insanity by being drunk. Personally I do not drink or never have and people think it is because I am afraid I will become one. I have lived and seen how it destroys people and families and am disgusted when I see or smell any alcohol on a person. One is in therapy and hopefully it will work. The others barely function in life and find existing difficult. I cannot explain the women that killed their kids but I do not think of insanity when it is planned.
