That is also true. People who advocate radical change (whether from the left or the right) often fail to account for the cost of the disruption or even the attainability of the goal. (You can't get thar from 'ere.)

And this is why Kling is confounded. The problem is that the use of the term "conservative" in American discourse is conflated with reactionaryism. They are both on the political right, but they are distinct. A conservatism wants to conserve, wants to avoid radical change due to unintended consequences, and due to the threat to long-standing institutions. Chesterton's Fence is the proper analogy. Reactionaries want radical change to undo long-standing institutions (generations long) and return society to what they believe was a better epoch. What America is experiencing isn't conservatism, but reactionaryism.

And that is why Kling is confounded.

Reactionaryism is nothing more than progressive/socialist/communists panicking at a Scotus return to the Constitutions founding ideas. Thanks to Harry Reid, the "expert" elitist class of Woodrow Wilson is fading away and the Nanny state of FDR and LBJ are being slowly offloaded into histories dumpster. It is a fine start and the socialist totalitarians already want to "pack" the Court once again, see Eric Holder.

Colorado Democrats decide to destroy the state's electrical grid to save the planet.

But this is no longer a clean heat plan, instead it’s a Dear John letter to your furnace. You see, “eliminating greenhouse gases” means eliminating all coal and natural gas, and therefore most all our electricity too.

No plan survives first contact with reality — or with Gov. Polis’ Colorado Energy Office, which in July suggested the PUC (also appointed by Polis) raise the target to 41%. Utilities fought the idea. Consumer advocates fought it. Even the unions said, “Um, guys?”

The PUC responded, “Great feedback, everyone. We’re doing it anyway.”

The left "must" create a negative false definition of the right then disparage the right based on this false premise simply because the truth makes the right look good and the left look bad.

Fascism is and always was a leftist ideology and from the 60's the left has been trying to disown it and convince the world that Hitler and Mussolini were right wing. Even with the word socialist in their name NAZI's are being redefined as right wing. This is what the left does and what they must do. This is what Lenin and Stalin did to create their communist country and it is what Mao did as well. Lie, propagandize and assassinate the strongest leaders on the right. This is what Zach is doing. No doubt he is a paid bot/propagandist for the left and the only thing useful in his posts is that whatever he says you can be assured that the exact opposite is true.

Fascism has been almost universally considered a right-wing ideology. That's because fascists advocate for a strictly hierarchical society with an autocratic ruler and the supremacy of the nation over other nations, contrary to the egalitarianism of the left.

Be real for a minute. If someone points to a neoNazi skinhead, they are immediately characterized as right-wing.

Fascism is socialist and Communism is socialist. The French are a perfect example of this dueling dysfunctionality. The Communists, such as Mitterrand, sat on the left side of parliament while the Fascists such as the Vichy French sit on the right side of parliament. Only American academics and media try to confuse the public with left/right. Antifa, the antifascist communists, and the fascists were fighting for control of the socialist foundation of Europe. They are the losers along with the academy that promoted them. The antifascists in America originated in the move of the Frankfort school to Columbia University. From there the Communists spread throughout the university academy. Gramsci and company are your "founders".

The left has become communist, many are openly communist, many are agreeable to the communist manifesto if it allows the power and to retain power and many of them are too afraid or extorted into supporting the neo-communist Democrat party. They will and they must assassinate strong leaders on the right, put right leaning activists in jail as a lesson to the rest of us and to censor and propagandize the media and social internet. You can see this by going on Facebook or YouTube and watching the videos put their by the left wing bots and paid propagandists. The number of these has increased massively since Trump won a year ago.
