We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Glad you guys are having a good time in Paris. My fondest memory of our Paris visit years back: We were delayed leaving our little hotel room one morning.
Me: Let's go. We want to get to the Louvre as it opens.
Wife: I can't find my tweezers.
Me: Well they're here somewhere; let's look for them when we get back.
Wife: OK.
We get to the Louvre as it opens and somehow drift into the Egyptian exhibits. We wandered into a mock bedroom of an Egyptian princess (can't remember name but lots of 3000 year old stuff from crypt behind glass).
Me: Hey! There's your tweezers (pointing to a small vanity box with tweezers and eyelash benders and eyebrow pencils ...)
You are fortunate to have enough funds to keep you away from most of the problems and issues forced on the middle and lower class. They can't get away from the trouble brought into the country by the politicians.
