Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

The sinking of The Lusitania, 1915


This enacted documentary suggests that the English government was not very upset about this horrible incident. No doubt that in 1915, just as in WW2, they wanted the US in the war.

It is well-known that the Lusitania was carrying military hardware despite denials at the time. It is becoming known that the Zimmerman Telegram (which was real) was seriously misquoted for the purposes of pushing us into war.

Every war has been a racket since the Spanish-American War of 1898.

Please, not English government, there is and was no such thing at the time: it's [b]British[/i] government.

Can we assume then that the US government was not very upset about 9/11, which provided a handy premise to invade Afghanistan and Iraq?
