We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
BillH, your comment caught my eye in case we might be able to grow wild cherry here on the Texas Gulf Coast, but I've never seen one here and can't find any websites encouraging me to think they'd like it here. The sandy soil may not suit them.

The seeds of boxelder trees are also toxic to horses,
When the cherries fall on your car, they stain the paint and it can be a real b word to get it out, even if your car has a healthy coat of wax on it. Did it for years until the neighbor cut down the tree next to my driveway
