We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Maybe. But don't forget 63 million people voted for him. Do you think they will go away if Trump is impeached or assassinated? What seems obvious here is an illusion. It appears that the forces of the left are coming for Trump and that they will win. But the truth is the forces of the left are coming for us/Americans and Trump simply happens to be in their way. Trump will go, I doubt he will be impeached but that could happen. I suspect he will finish his term and not get reelected. But the 63 million who voted for him and the many more who feel the same about America but didn't vote for him because of his real or perceived negatives won't go away. There will be pain.
Trump needs to reach out to the American people with a cogent proposal to clean up government, expressed through traditional network television and rallies - NOT Twitter. He needs to first make the case that American Justice is being prostituted by corrupt oligarchs, mostly but not exclusively Democrats. He needs to ask for the direct support of the people in revealing the cabal, which is a trap designed to snare him. Most of all he needs to understand that America is not one giant New York City real estate development deal, and learn to communicate and conduct himself to appeal to real Americans. Throwing red meat is not communicating.
If he can do these things, he will have literally saved the country, and laid claim to the mantle of Greatest Modern American President. I give him no more than a 50-50 chance, because most Americans have no idea what is really happening to their country, and only he will be willing to tell them the truth.
As I have said before, the suburban housewives will gladly jump and the train to Tyranny, as long as the destination is announced politely.
