We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Masculinity, grown men.
I know of at least one man, my dear husband, who has benefited from all of these attacks on men lately. It has certainly made me appreciate him more than ever. Perhaps more women will also see through the latest incarnation of "feminism" and learn to appreciate real masculine, grown men.
Dr. Ferrari noted that clutter is also often the result of an “over-attachment” to our personal items, which makes it difficult to part with them. For overwhelmed individuals who want to declutter, he recommends a hands-off approach.
“If you’re going to declutter, don’t touch the item. Don’t pick it up,” he said. “Have somebody else hold the pair of black pants and say, ‘Do you need this?’ Once you touch the item, you are less likely to get rid of it.”
Serendipitously, I just watched the first episode of the Marie Kondo series on Netflix last night. I just couldn't quite "get" her little ritual of thanking and saying goodbye to a garment that was to be discarded. But Ferrari has explained it: Kondo's ritual is a way of "breaking the spell" of attachment to a no-longer-needed object. Very clever indeed. I think I just got a little Kondoesque spark of joy.
For years I've disposed of clothing and canvas shoes by relegating them to the garage workshop for work duty, which uses them up pretty quick. When they're no longer serviceable, they go in the rag bin if they'd make good rags, otherwise into the garbage bin. It's hard to be sentimental towards something that's worn out.
It's very hard for me to throw things away unless they're really damaged. Much easier to pack them up and drop them off at the local thrift store, which resells them cheap and funds a lot of churches and charities in town. I have to remind myself that someone could be using the object while I'm dithering over where to store it, and that if I ever really, really need something like that again, I can buy another.
In the meantime, getting things into a state where I can actually find useful objects is such a pleasure, as is having a place to put them away when I want to clear the decks, and not just a "panic drawer" to throw them in, either.
"Grown Men Are the Solution not the problem"
Our safe and happy lifestyle today is thanks to men. Our security and peacefulness is thanks to men. But also thanks to the effort of the men in times past it seems as though our safe and bountiful life is simply natural and inevitable. It is not. It won't always be safe and peaceful and one day we will need millions of tough capable men. That day could come soon and without warning and I hope our men will be up to that challenge.
We make men without chests and expect of them virtue and enterprise. We laugh at honour and are shocked to find traitors in our midst. We castrate and bid the geldings be fruitful.” —C.S. Lewis
Here Lewis is referring, not just to courage, but to heart.
Lefties love to idolize the wisdom of indigenous people, yet they ignore the fact that most of these cultures put very strong demands on boys and men, raising them with high expectations.

"Americans have spent decades raping and pillaging my people.

She later deleted that tweet but for some reason no one reports it. It sounds a little more anti-American than your typical Democrat congress person. Why isn't it being reported?
Also, who are "her people" if not Americans??? How did an anti-American like her get into congress? Can we impeach her?

No wonder at all, the absence of media attention does not equal a lack of recognition and understanding. I've worked in many countries that are dominated by that particular religion, too many to fool myself otherwise. It is a way of life - not just a set of theological beliefs, but reinforced doctrinal lessons translated into direct action at the citizen level, and reinforced by government edict; and it's being nurtured here under the cover of party support. The advancing timeline has been laid out for us nicely in the EU's example, and we are matching it step for step, a few years behind. Ignore it at your children's peril.
You might be right. If you are I accept it. But missing a checkmark?! That is the proof! How about she comes out and denies it? That would be proof.

The EU is not, and does not want to be, a state. It wants, and intends to be, a government to the subject states.
And it will fail.
(It already is; Brexit represents a failure.)
The EU as a powerful consolidated European trading bloc made good sense; as a quasi-sovereign, phony-baloney ersatz United States of Europe, less so.
Was anyone else freaked out by the Pelosi Schumer show last night? It was scary watching them standing there. It reminded me of that commercial with a couple living in a house with a bunch freaky looking dolls that stare at you like Chucky. There should have been a warning or a "R" rating for viewers. If you saw it you will never be able to unsee it.
One of these mornings, Pelosi is going to wake up with her eyebrows in her hairline and have to borrow Trudeau's fake brows for public appearances. Together the "Chuck 'n' Nancy Show" reminds me of early commercials by Jim Henson's puppets; i.e. all mouth and weird eyes.

Anyway, returning to the previously unanswered question, how is it that leftism, the ideology of force against rights and persons, somehow still advertises Utopia and tolerance? Does the right and good generally flow from force, oppression, a hundred million lives, and from the general, global intolerance for dissent? And for once deliver a straight answer, Gasbot.
Not gonna happen. The kiddiez are incapable of owning their misleading statements and outright lies.
That's too bad too, puppies, because you'd think that shepherding in the brave new world would involve skittles and unicorns - and none of that fake stuff; I'm talking the real thing.
Why, it should be a right religious revival, progressiviem should be, so truthful, wholesome, and goodnessy, wholesome, pure, and right as it's assumed to be, this business of feeding the environment and healing children and border security crossings and sanctuary welfare dumps. And good and pure. Plus you can drag republicans like a good zealot because orange man bad, and badness and tolerance for dissenting views is good.
I think that's about it. So I'm sure if real totalitarianism was ever tried it'd be fine. So trustworthy progressivism and good. Why do you hate the puppies, puppy?
One puppy, a tragedy; many puppies, a statistic.
But all seriousness aside, we should pass totalitarianism to see what's in it. Goodness, I'm told, and good. Need to break some utopias to make a Utopian village - which it takes, the book said - and feed some omelettes, plus children of the solar system are safer from climate change and warmening and whatnot.
I for one am tired of my h8tred so join me and us as we'll all of us you and I imagine a brave new Utopia where's there no people it's easy if you try and no religion too unless it's allowed.
Sorry to go all flippant on you, Meh, what with the serious work of submitting to benevolent totalitarianism to be done. Your self-loathing in regard to your own h8tred is a good start, and worthy of emulation. To get with the program, I'm going to place myself on double secret probation due to excessive whiteness and toxic masculinity (I made a rickety tree fort when I was a kid - self-flagellation here I come!). One day I'll buy totalitarianism a Coke.
Meanwhile, we now know that Trump's campaign manager was secretly funneling campaign data to a Russian agent, while Russia was engaging in cyberwarfare against the United States to help Trump by damaging his political opponent in the presidential campaign.
I heard that the Russians made Hillary avoid campaigning in Wisconsin. I also heard that they persuaded her to drink a lot and throw things. Damn Russians. Curse them.
OK. I'm no lawyer. SO just so I don't get into trouble some day what law would I be breaking if I talk to a Russian friend and tell him the results of a poll? Sounds serious. Can I tell an American the results of a poll? How about a Canadian??
Anon: SO just so I don't get into trouble some day what law would I be breaking if I talk to a Russian friend and tell him the results of a poll?
While the details were not revealed, campaigns spend millions of dollars on surveys developing comprehensive voter profiles, especially those in critical battlegrounds. If this is what Manafort provided to Konstantin Kilimnik, a Russian-Ukrainian businessman with ties to Russian intelligence, then the question becomes why did Manafort meet secretly in a third country with someone he knew had ties to the Russian oligarchy providing such information on the eve of the U.S. general election. Knowing as we do of Russian interference in the U.S. election, the implication is clear.
I appreciate your insanely focused anti-Trump position. I really do. But you haven't even tried to answer the question. Can an American share non secret non military data with a foreign national. I have family in Canada and I no longer know what I can say to them. If I were to tell one of them that President Trump is up in the polls will Mueller indict me and for what, exactly? Did Manafort break a law or is this all hype to further the Russian collusion scam? I predict you won't answer these questions because if it is all true exactly as reported there was still no law broken and that isn't useful to the left.
Anon: Can an American share non secret non military data with a foreign national.
The information was presumably proprietary, not a government secret. There is no criminal law against sharing such information, unless it is part of an effort to influence the U.S. electoral process, then it may constitute a conspiracy against the United States.
Anon: I have family in Canada and I no longer know what I can say to them.
Oh? Are they engaged in a conspiracy to interfere in the U.S. election?
Anon: If I were to tell one of them that President Trump is up in the polls will Mueller indict me and for what, exactly?
We may reasonably presume that Manafort was passing proprietary election polling. Manafort was dealing with an agent with the same intelligence service that hacked millions of dollars worth of DNC voter data.
Anon: Did Manafort break a law or is this all hype to further the Russian collusion scam?
Manafort is a convicted criminal. The current allegation is that he has continued to lie to the FBI. That would constitute a crime.
Z: The information was presumably proprietary, not a government secret. There is no criminal law against sharing such information, unless it is part of an effort to influence the U.S. electoral process, then it may constitute a conspiracy against the United States.
There may be a case made for misappropriating the proprietary information for personal gain, but that might be hard to make stick, depending on the provable facts of the case.
Zzzz: Meanwhile, we now know that Trump's campaign manager was secretly funneling campaign data to a Russian agent, ...
Oops! Kiddiez wrong again! Bwahaha!
